White dry

Tradition Macon-Villages Vieilles Vignes Blanc 2025

22,00

Description

A classic Burgundian-style white wine crafted from old-vine ‘Chardonnay’ grown in the Mâconnais region. This cuvée stands out for its purity and subtle maturity – the natural signature of fruit sourced from older vines. It represents a more intense, concentrated, and harmoniously balanced expression of Mâcon-Villages.

The nose opens with notes of white peach, pear, lemon zest, and green apple, complemented by delicate white flowers, hints of almond, and a touch of stony minerality. The aroma is clean and focused, characteristic of high-quality wines from the Mâconnais.

On the palate, the wine is gently creamy yet precisely structured. Layers of citrus and stone fruit unfold gracefully, leading into a mineral, dry, and elegant finish. The acidity is lively and refreshing, giving the wine a beautifully balanced feel.

The grapes grow on limestone-clay and stony slopes of the Mâconnais, which lend the wine a clear mineral backbone and a well-defined fruit profile. The 40–60-year-old vines delve deep into the soil, producing naturally smaller but exceptionally aromatic and concentrated berries.

Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts at low temperatures to preserve aromatic freshness. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, maintaining purity and clarity of expression.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 10–12 °C with lemon-white fish, scallops with butter-lemon sauce, or light chicken with creamy herb sauce.
