Haut-Médoc AOC is one of the most prestigious appellations of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, covering the southern part of the Médoc peninsula and widely regarded as a benchmark of classic Bordeaux structure. It is an area where ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ finds ideal conditions to express itself through structure, longevity, and refined balance.
The appellation includes the most renowned Médoc communes—Margaux, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, and Saint-Estèphe—as well as numerous estates whose wines are labeled specifically as Haut-Médoc AOC. Owing to this concentration, Haut-Médoc is often considered the core of the Médoc, where the foundations of Bordeaux classification and stylistic tradition were established.
Red Haut-Médoc wines are produced primarily from ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’, complemented by ‘Merlot’, ‘Cabernet Franc’, and ‘Petit Verdot’.

Deep gravel terraces, formed over millennia, provide excellent drainage and heat retention, allowing grapes to achieve phenolic ripeness even in cooler vintages. The Girond e estuary also plays a key role by moderating temperature fluctuations and reducing the risk of climatic damage to the crop.
