One of Burgundy’s most charming regions, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune AOC lies to the west of the famed Côte de Beaune slopes. This appellation encompasses hilly, higher-altitude vineyards stretching between the villages of Corton and Santenay. Here, elegant, fresh, and authentic Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines are born – expressions of the pure character of Burgundy’s hills.
The appellation was established in 1961, when Burgundian winemakers sought to officially recognize the potential of their high-altitude vineyards. Today, it covers more than 800 hectares of vines planted between 280 and 450 meters above sea level. The cooler climate and south-to-southeast-facing slopes allow grapes to ripen slowly, preserving natural acidity and aromatic freshness.
The soils are highly varied – from limestone marl to clay and stony tufa – providing the wines with minerality, subtle depth, and structure.

Today, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune AOC is regarded as one of Burgundy’s most promising and fast-rising appellations, producing wines of remarkable quality and authenticity at excellent value, while preserving the region’s classical identity.
