Armagnac Darroze Domaine de Martin 2007 0.2 L

Description

Hailing from the prestigious Bas-Armagnac region in Gascony, the 2007 vintage from the Domaine de Martin estate offers an exceptional expression of elegance and rich, fruity flavors. This finely aged spirit perfectly reflects the unique influence of the region's sandy soils, resulting in an impeccably smooth and harmonious character.

The generous nose reveals enticing aromas of cooked apples, dried apricots, and candied orange peel, elegantly interlaced with fine baking spices and a touch of toasted bread. On the palate, the tannins are silky and refined, providing a beautifully balanced, fruit-forward profile that lingers gracefully into a very long finish.

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature (18–20 °C) in a traditional tulip-shaped glass. It pairs wonderfully with high-percentage dark chocolate, a freshly brewed espresso, creamy desserts like Crème Brûlée.

About brand

Darroze in the world of Armagnac stands for far more than quality — it represents a philosophy. It is a family story spanning more than a century and one of the most authentic expressions of the Gascony region.

The story began at the end of the 19th century, when the Darroze family started working with local winegrowers in Gascony. However, it was in the mid-20th century, thanks to Francis Darroze, that the house took on its present identity. He understood that the true value of Armagnac lies not in volume or blending for consistency, but in specific places, soils, vintages, and the human hand behind them.

Darroze Armagnac is never blended to achieve a uniform taste profile. Each bottle reflects a single estate, a single harvest, and a single story. It is a spirit that evolves, matures, and gains complexity with time. For this reason, Darroze is often compared to great wines rather than industrial spirits.

Most Darroze Armagnacs come from the Bas-Armagnac region, considered the most refined and elegant part of the appellation. The sandy and clay-rich soils give the distillates their signature softness, aromatic depth, and long aging potential. Distillation is carried out using the traditional continuous column still, followed by slow, natural maturation in French oak barrels.

Today, Darroze is regarded as one of the most important guardians of traditional Armagnac. Its creations are highly valued by collectors, sommeliers, and spirits enthusiasts around the world.

This is not a mass-produced spirit — it is a living piece of Gascony’s history in a glass.
