Caroline Parent’s ‘Chardonnay’ stands out with its elegance, subtlety, and traditional reflection of Burgundian terroir.
On the nose, ripe berry aromas unfold, with toasted almond, hazelnut, and floral accents adding complexity. As it matures, notes of butter, honey, and citrus fruits may also emerge.
The village of Meursault, located in Côte de Beaune, is famous for its chalky, clay-limestone soil, which gives the wine its characteristic minerality and structure. Grapes are grown on slopes, ensuring the necessary amount of warmth.
The winemaking process begins with grape bunches, transported to the winery in small crates and air-conditioned trucks, ensuring their freshness. Grapes are then hand-sorted, pressed, and placed into barrels where alcoholic fermentation takes place, followed by malolactic fermentation.
The wine's aging occurs for 12 months in oak barrels. Large, 600-liter barrels (demi-muids) are used for this process. Afterward, the wine is bottled and aged for another 4-6 months in barrels to fully mature.
Serve at 12–14°C with grilled salmon and herbs, pan-seared scallops with butter and lemon sauce, or aged Comté or Gruyère cheese.
Caroline Parent – a name that unites two of Burgundy’s most renowned winemaking dynasties: the Gros family of Côte de Nuits and the Parent family of Côte de Beaune. The daughter of François Parent and Anne Françoise Gros, Caroline represents the fourteenth generation of the Parent lineage, carrying forward deep-rooted traditions. Drawing on long-standing expertise and her family’s inherited savoir-faire, she continues the classical philosophy of Burgundy winemaking while looking to the future and crafting wines for generations to come.
Caroline Parent seeks to delicately express the essence of Burgundy’s terroir. Her wines are defined by elegance, refinement, and balance.
White wines (‘Chardonnay’) – marked by minerality, rich texture, fruit and floral notes, and subtle touches of oak.
Red wines (‘Pinot Noir’) – aromatic, elegant, with silky tannins, vibrant red fruit character, and a long finish.
Most of Caroline’s wines come from family-owned or ancestral vineyards in both the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Additionally, she collaborates only with like-minded local growers to ensure the authenticity of Burgundy’s expression. This careful selection allows her to produce wines that truly reflect their origin.
Caroline Parent’s wines are crafted in the classical Burgundy style: fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a restrained use of new oak to preserve elegance and natural fruit purity. These wines are appealing to drink young, thanks to their freshness and fruit expression, yet they also possess the potential to age gracefully, revealing greater depth, complexity, and refinement over time.
