Champagne Domaine Vincey Lieu-Dit "Coin Gris" Oger Grand Cru 2021

104,00

Description

Champagne Domaine Vincey Lieu-Dit “Coin Gris” Oger Grand Cru 2021 Blanc de Blancs is crafted from a single vineyard (lieu-dit) in the village of Oger, at the very heart of the Côte des Blancs Grand Cru area. This 100% Chardonnay perfectly expresses the essence of the Oger terroir.

Florence and Quentin Vincey apply a philosophy of natural winemaking in the “Coin Gris” parcel. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, without filtration and without dosage (Brut Nature), allowing the terroir to express itself with absolute purity.

The champagne reveals aromas of white grapefruit, lemon zest, white flowers, green almonds, and wet chalk, complemented by subtle notes of smoke, sea salt, and brioche.

On the palate, the wine is expressive yet refined. A vibrant acidity is balanced by a saline, chalky texture, remaining silky and beautifully creamy. The flavour profile moves between citrus freshness, delicate nuttiness, and distinct maritime minerality.

“Coin Gris” is a small south-east facing Grand Cru vineyard in Oger, where limestone and chalk soils fully reflect the true character of Côte des Blancs.

Fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts, partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel. After fermentation, the champagne is aged on fine lees for approximately 3–5 years, enhancing texture, depth, and complexity.

Serving recommendations

Serve at a temperature of 8–10 °C. Pairs well with oysters, citrus ceviche, or caramelized scallops with beurre blanc.

About brand

“Domaine Vincey” is a Grower Champagne estate located in the Grand Cru village of Oger, in the Côte des Blancs region. The producer focuses primarily on expressing the character of ‘Chardonnay’, aiming to reveal the identity of this chalk-rich terroir through individual plot vinification and a minimal-intervention approach.

The estate’s champagnes reflect the characteristics of Oger – pronounced minerality, vibrant acidity, structure, and ageing potential. The focus is not only on texture, but also on expressing the identity of each vineyard plot, vintage, and place of origin.

History and winemaking philosophy

The Vincey family’s viticultural roots in the Oger area date back to the beginning of the 20th century. The modern identity of the estate began to take shape in 2014, when Florence and Quentin Vincey took over the management of the family vineyards and started to develop their own Grower Champagne philosophy.

The estate follows organic and biodynamic viticultural principles. The main focus is placed on soil vitality, natural vine balance, and preserving the individuality of each vineyard plot. Synthetic herbicides and chemical fertilisers are avoided in vineyard management.

Each important vineyard plot is vinified separately, indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation, and the wines are often bottled with minimal intervention – without filtration or with only light filtration – in order to preserve the natural texture and terroir expression.

Domaine Vincey Champagne style

The estate’s main focus is ‘Chardonnay’ from the Oger Grand Cru terroir. The champagnes are characterised by precise structure, chalk-driven minerality, and a restrained aromatic profile.

Blanc de Blancs champagnes express the typical Côte des Blancs character: citrus fruits, white flowers, chalky notes, and subtle saline nuances. Extended ageing on lees provides additional texture and complexity.

Millésime champagnes are produced from a single vintage, allowing the character of each year to become more evident. Longer ageing brings additional aromatic depth, revealing notes of mature citrus fruits, nuts, brioche, and subtle spice nuances.

The champagnes are aged on lees for several years, often beyond the minimum requirements of the region, gaining greater texture, depth, and complexity.

Oger Grand Cru vineyards

Oger is one of the 17 villages in Champagne classified as Grand Cru. This Côte des Blancs terroir is renowned for its chalk-rich soils, which provide ‘Chardonnay’ grapes with freshness, minerality, and long ageing potential.

The key vineyard plots of “Domaine Vincey” include:

  • Les Chênes – a plot that contributes greater structure and concentration to the wines.
  • Les Hautes Mottes – characterised by pronounced minerality and the distinctive expression of chalk soils.
  • Grand Cru d’Oger – the heart of the estate, where the classic expression of Oger ‘Chardonnay’ is revealed.

“Domaine Vincey” champagnes are focused on terroir precision – reflecting not only the character of the grape variety, but also the influence of Oger Grand Cru’s landscape, soils, and individual vintages.
