"Kunigaikščių" Mead – an expression of noble Lithuanian mead-making tradition
“Kunigaikščių midus” is a Traditional Heritage product that reflects the old Lithuanian mead-making tradition and the richness of nature. This dark-coloured mead stands out not only for its distinctive, deep flavour, but also for its exceptionally smooth, silky texture and complex aroma. Its character is shaped by the use of all bee products in its production, giving the drink greater depth, richness, and a truly noble expression.
On the nose, one finds the mature depth of honey, accompanied by subtle notes of propolis, bee bread, and natural beekeeping nuances. On the palate, this mead is harmonious, rounded, and rich, while maintaining an elegant balance. Its silky texture and long, expressive finish give it a distinctive character that fully lives up to its name.

Šušvė Mead is a family-owned company based in the village of Plinkaigalis, in the Kėdainiai region of central Lithuania. Its founder, Erikas Augustinavičius, is a third-generation beekeeper who learned the craft from his grandfather and mother. Nestled along the banks of the Šušvė River, the family apiary now cares for over 200 beehives, producing the honey that becomes this exceptional Lithuanian drink.
All honey used is completely natural, with no chemical additives, and the mead is aged for no less than one year, with some styles matured for up to three years. The result is a mead with a noble, subtly sweet flavor, and an aroma that begins to unfold even before the bottle is opened – each cork is sealed with natural beeswax.
