White sweet
Chateau Dereszla Tokaji Furmint Late Harvest 2017 - an example of a refined and balanced dessert wine classic - late harvest wine. A wine for those who appreciate the elegance, subtlety and grace of sweet white wines. The juiciness of the 'Furmint' grapes, the depths of the volcanic soil of the Tokaj‑Hegyalja region and the craftsmanship of the wine house create a long lasting wine value.
The aromas of the wine open up a rich world of fruit and honey: apricots, pears, marzipan, exotic fruits - mango, passionflower, hints of flowers. A wine with excellent structure - sweetness harmoniously combines with refreshing acidity.
Fermentation was carried out at low temperatures. The wine was aged in Hungarian oak barrels for several months.
Residual sugar content: 100g/l.
Serve at 10-12 °C with desserts, cheeses, and tropical fruit platters.
Chateau Dereszla is steeped in rich history when the first mention of the name occurred in 1406 as a storage cellar of wines collected for tax levies for the then king of Hungary. The estate changed hands for many centuries as it moved from Hungarian to Turkish to Austrian rulers until 1945. After WW II, it became part of a Hungarian Cooperative. At the turn of the century, in 2000, the estate was purchased by the French d’Aulan family who quickly modernized and streamlined production to create world-renowned wines. Under this French ownership, the Chateau achieved international recognition and became renowned for their Tokaji Aszu wines. Modernization continued the evolution of the estate and it reached an important milestone when, in 2016, it became once again under Hungarian ownership.
