Region is located in northern Italy, in the Veneto province near Verona. It is considered the homeland of the ‘Garganega’ grape and a benchmark for classic Italian white wine – known for its delicate aroma, mineral character, and vibrant acidity.
The “Classico” zone encompasses the oldest and most highly regarded Soave vineyards, situated on the rolling hills between the towns of Soave and Monteforte d’Alpone. Here, vines grow on volcanic and calcareous tufa soils that lend the wines distinctive minerality, structure, and remarkable longevity.
The climate is warm, yet the hilly terrain and cool Alpine breezes help preserve freshness and aromatic precision. These conditions allow ‘Garganega’ to ripen slowly, maintaining a perfect balance between ripeness and acidity.
Read moreBy regulation, Soave Classico wines must contain at least 70% ‘Garganega’, often complemented by ‘Trebbiano di Soave’ or ‘Chardonnay’. This blend produces a harmonious, subtly floral and mineral-driven style, with notes of white peach, almond, and citrus fruit.
On the palate, the wines are elegant and fresh, with firm structure and a refined mineral finish. With age, they may develop nuances of honey, herbs, and dried fruit.
Soave Classico perfectly captures the true character of Veneto – precision, balance, and natural grace. It is an ideal companion for seafood, white fish, vegetable risotto, or mild cheeses.
