Red dry
Brigaldara Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2019 is an Italian Amarone classic, characterized by a rich aroma profile, depth, and elegance. The vines are grown in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica appellation - the Marano Valley. The wine is produced using the traditional appassimento method. Only healthy berries are carefully selected in the vineyard, before being pressed and fermented, they are dried for 120 days in wooden boxes. The wine is then aged for one year in 225-liter oak barrels and another 2 years in large 25-hectoliter oak barrels.
The ruby-colored wine smells of ripe cherries, paprika, dried plums, hibiscus, sweet tobacco, and licorice. The sweet glycerine taste in the mouth turns into a bitter, mildly tannic note, warm. Red fruit aftertaste.
Residual sugar -1.8 g/l.
Serve at a temperature of 16 - 18 °C with game roasts/stews, beef ragu or goulash, mature cheeses, dark chocolate.
The XX century marks the beginning of Brigaldara as we know it today. In 1928, Renzo Cesari purchases Brigaldara. With his son Lamberto, he specializes in viticulture with love and passion. The greatest impulse takes place in the 80s, when the direction passes into the hands of Stefano, Renzo's grandson, who starts a long-lasting collaboration with Roberto Ferrarini, perhaps one of the most important innovators in the history of Amarone and Valpolicella. In 1997, Brigaldara's Amarone is awarded for the first time the Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso.
