This wine offers a velvety texture and aromatic richness, perfectly balancing vivacity and maturity. Touches of tobacco mingle with candied and powdered strawberry. Notes of fig and biscuit are enriched with accents of rose and cinnamon. The texture is creamy and persistent, extending a slender and complex elegance, yet delicate.
What makes Rauzan-Ségla unique is the exceptional richness of its terroir in Margaux. A true signature of the estate, this geological mosaic is divided into three major families of soils, each contributing its part to the complexity of the wines.
The harvest of Château Rauzan-Ségla 2017 is carried out manually, parcel by parcel, with rigorous sorting. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot grapes are harvested in crates and then transported to the vats by gravity. Vinification takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, allowing precise control of temperatures. Aging takes place over 18 months in French oak barrels, with 60% new wood, contributing to its structure and longevity.
Serve at 16-18 °C with red meat stew with black plums, roast beef and veal, roast lamb/bacon rolls, medium hard cheeses.
Chateau Rauzan-Segla tops the list of manufacturers in their class, and around Bordeaux is second only to recognized grants, such as Chateau Latour, Chateau Margaux, Chateau Haut-Brion and Mouton Rothschild. Chateau Rauzan-Segla always had a reputation potentially excellent wine producer, but since the early 80s proved it in practice, began releasing a series of wines of the highest quality, which has continued to do. History of Rauzan-Segla began under King Louis XIV in 1661, when Pierre de Rauzan became the owner of the estate. Pierre was very rich and powerful man with an excellent reputation among wine merchants Bordeaux region. For many years, generations of families Rosanne successfully managed the estate, turning it into a prosperous and thriving winery.
