White dry
Clos Mogador Nelin 2021 is an elegant and complex white wine from Priorat DOCa, one of the most prestigious wine regions in Spain. Created by renowned winemaker René Barbier at the Clos Mogador winery, this wine reflects the terroir of the Priorat hills, a bold but balanced style.
The grapes are hand-picked, the wine is fermented with the skins, then aged for 12 months in 1200l oak barrels and 6 months in stainless steel barrels. The production process aims for minimal intervention, maintaining the natural character of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.
This wine is a rich, complex and mineral white with a subtle note of maturity. The aroma is dominated by white fruits, dried apricots, herbs, and a faint hint of smoke. The taste is full-bodied, ripe stone fruits, fruity acidity and a long-lasting, mineral aftertaste.
Sulphite content in the wine: 90mg/l.
Residual sugar content: 0.8g/l.
Acid content: 5.3g/l.
Approximately 9,000 bottles are produced.
Serve at 10-12°C. Goes well with seafood, lightly fried fish, white meat dishes or aged goat cheeses.
Flinty nose of baked citrus, white sesame and touches of nori, yellow apples and pine nuts. Some dried Mediterranean spices and herbs, too. Quite supple yet fresh, with medium acidity and a flavorful center. Medium- to full-bodied with a lengthy finish. Quite unique and complex. Delicious now, but can hold.
Clos Mogador is a wine estate in Gratallops in the Priorat appellation of Catalonia, particularly known for its red wines focusing on Grenache and Carignan. The estate was founded in 1979 by Catalan-Frenchman René Barbier, but the first Clos Mogador wine did not appear until 1989, when a joint release of a combined blend with nine other producers – released with 10 different labels – appeared to great acclaim.
