2009 was a sunny year with a true, very cold and dry winter, followed by a wonderful sunny summer and an almost rain-free August and September. All of this led to traditional vine growth, excellent health, and extraordinary grape ripening, allowing for the production of dense, fruity, and noble wines. The rich, radiant, and utterly enticing 2009 Cristal is characterized by extraordinary depth and stunning purity.
15% of the juices were fermented in oak barrels. The champagne was aged for 6 years in the bottle on its lees and rested for an additional 6 months in the bottle after disgorgement.

A very rich and full-bodied Cristal that harks back to 2006 or 1989 in style. It's round and rich, which underlies the ripeness of the vintage. Lots of dried-apple and pineapple character with bread dough and flan flavors. The bubbles are so fine you almost don't notice them. Very vinous style.
