Rose dry
Produced using organic farming methods from shallow clay-limestone & sand soils situated at around 250m above sea level. Mechanically-harvested in the early hours of the morning to obtain wine of an attractively pale colour. Grapes are completely destemmed. The approach to winemaking is by the traditional method in stainless steel vats: short period of skin maceration before pressing. Cold temperature settling is the next stage. Fermentation is temperature-controlled and malolactic fermentation avoided to retain those crisp, fresh aromas. No oak aging. The ‘Château’ is the most traditional – and the oldest – of their wines. It’s blended in the traditional way, with a short maceration period – these wines are designed to be drunk fairly soon. Dependable, elegant and bursting with fruit. The ideal way to get to know the vineyard and taste the terroir. Delicate and elegant floral aromas with lively minerality on the palate, clean attack and delicious strawberry notes.
Serve at 10-12 °C with tapas, a tasty pizza or a little charcuterie.
Château de L’Escarelle – one of the most striking estates in Provence, located in the La Sainte-Baume Regional Natural Park, where vineyards are surrounded by hills and forests. In this protected landscape, more than 100 hectares of vines grow at altitudes of up to 500 meters on terraced limestone soils, divided by traditional dry-stone walls. This unique environment creates an exceptional terroir, giving the wines freshness, minerality, and elegance. Since 2014, when Yann Pineau acquired the estate, Château de L’Escarelle has undergone modernization and a transition to organic viticulture, combining Provençal traditions with innovation.
Château de L’Escarelle wines embody a subtle balance between the sun-drenched fruitiness of Provence and a crisp, mineral structure.
Rosé wine – the estate’s signature style, brimming with notes of strawberry, raspberry, citrus, and delicate floral hints, marked by freshness and elegance.
White wine – mineral-driven and refreshing, with citrus, white flower, and stone fruit accents, maintaining a clean and precise structure.
Red wine – fruit-forward, with ripe berry, spice, and herbal aromas, balanced tannins, and a long, refined finish.
The estate’s strength lies in its unique location and diverse soils. The vineyards, set amidst pristine nature and reaching elevations of up to 500 meters, benefit from a distinctive microclimate. The limestone terraces ensure excellent drainage and lend the wines remarkable minerality, while the hillside exposure allows grapes to ripen slowly, preserving freshness and aromatic purity.
The winery employs modern yet restrained winemaking methods: stainless steel tanks with temperature control, advanced sorting technologies, and subtle use of oak barrels to preserve the purity of the terroir. Rosés and whites are best enjoyed young, when their fruit and freshness shine brightest, while the reds have the potential to age for several years, gaining greater complexity and depth.
