Cyril Coperèt La Madone Fleurie AOP 2023

Description

A Beaujolais Cru Fleurie wine that reflects the gentle character, aromatic grace, and subtlety of the ‘Gamay’ grape in this hilly region. Cyril Coperet, a representative of the new generation of Beaujolais winemakers, crafts a classically styled wine where elegance, floral finesse, and a touch of spice come together — the true embodiment of the Fleurie character.

In the glass, it opens with ripe raspberry, cherry, violet, and rose petal aromas, accompanied by delicate hints of pepper, nutmeg, and mineral tones. The bouquet is refined, subtle, and inviting, maintaining a pure fruit expression with graceful floral notes.

On the palate, the wine is light yet well-structured, with a silky texture and perfectly balanced acidity. Flavors of red fruits, flowers, fine spices, and earthy nuances dominate, while the finish is long, clean, and elegant, with a touch of mineral freshness.

The grapes are grown on the southeast-facing slopes of Fleurie, surrounding the renowned La Madone hill, where pink granite soils impart both structure and subtle minerality. Fermentation follows the traditional carbonic maceration method, and the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its natural freshness and fruit purity.

About brand

Cyril Copéret’s family has been established for several generations in the village of Fleurie, renowned for its unique Cru Beaujolais wines. The estate is located on one of the most beautiful plots – Fleurie la Madone, beside the chapel overlooking the vineyards and the village itself. Here grow vines that are more than 60, and in some cases even 100, years old. This heritage, passed down from generation to generation, allows the creation of wines that preserve the authenticity of Fleurie. As Cyril himself says: “I don’t want to alter the quality of my vines. My ancestors’ work here was exceptional, and I want those who taste my wines to feel the true character of Fleurie.”

Wine Style

Cyril Copéret’s wines are known for their elegance, finesse, and refined taste. Fleurie “C’Ampagne”, crafted from old ‘Gamay’ vines, shows aromas of black fruits and silky tannins, giving the wine remarkable harmony. In addition to reds, the winemaker also produces Beaujolais Blanc and Beaujolais Villages Rosé “Rose de Morgane” – wines marked by freshness, floral and fruity notes, ideal both for everyday enjoyment and special occasions. All wines maintain a pure, authentic style that highlights the true character of the terroir.

Prestigious Vineyards

The estate’s greatest treasure is the Fleurie la Madone vineyard, one of the most highly regarded sites in the Fleurie appellation. Its unique terroir and old vines bring depth, complexity, and aging potential to the wines. This vineyard is the true pride of the Copéret family, symbolizing their history and continuity.

Aging and Drinking Window

Cyril Copéret’s wines are crafted to be enjoyed young, when their fruitiness, freshness, and supple texture are at their most expressive. However, the depth provided by the old vines also allows them to age gracefully, preserving the authentic character of Cru Beaujolais.
