Rose dry
The Kanonkop Kadette range is known for its approachable yet impeccably crafted wines, and this Pinotage Rosé is one of the clearest examples of how this South African grape can produce a refined, dry, and delicately fruity rosé.
The nose reveals notes of strawberries, redcurrants, juicy peaches, and rose petals. In the background, a touch of citrus freshness and subtle white-flower nuances add grace and lift to the aroma.
On the palate, the wine is dry, fresh, and carried by vibrant acidity with a lightly creamy textural feel. Strawberry and redcurrant fruit dominate, evolving into a gentle citrus-tinged finish. The balance is harmonious, and the aftertaste is medium in length, exceptionally clean and refreshing.
The grapes come from the Stellenbosch region, where granite and shale soils lend a mineral vitality to the wine. The Pinotage ripens evenly here, retaining freshness and a soft structure — both essential traits of a well-crafted rosé.
The grapes are harvested early in the morning to preserve temperature and aromatic purity. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at low temperatures to highlight fruit clarity. Ageing is brief and conducted without oak, focusing on freshness and precise aromatic expression.
Serve at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with Thai salads, ceviche, lightly fried fish, or refreshing summer snacks.
