Magula Dunaj 2016 Unplugged is a truly distinctive Slovakian red wine, a testament to minimal intervention and a deep respect for nature. Crafted from the indigenous ‘Dunaj’ grape, this wine embodies a philosophy where the winemaker acts as a guide, allowing the terroir to speak for itself.
Hailing from the Magula family's biodynamically cultivated Jungberg vineyard, located at the confluence of the Roses and Wolves valleys, this wine is made with a unique approach. Grapes hand-picked from 50-year-old vines, were gently crushed by foot and spontaneously fermented. The wine remained on skins with stems for five weeks, allowing for optimal extraction, before the free-run juice was racked into an old barrel.
After 18 months of undisturbed maturation, it was bottled unfiltered and unfined.
Serve at 16-18 °C with beef stews with wild mushrooms, burgers with minced beef, with Slovak coat pasta with bacon and cheese.
Respect for tradition, living in generations, participation in the miracle of creation and belief in the future of our beautiful planet, are values that influence Magula winery.
