White dry

Kir-Yianni Malagousia Single Block 2024

36,00 €

Description

Kir-Yianni Malagousia Single Block 2024 is a dry white wine from Greece, crafted from 100% Malagousia grapes. These grapes are grown in the Amindeon region of Northern Greece, specifically within a single plot of the "Bara" vineyard, situated at an altitude of 720 meters above sea level.

The wine’s aroma reveals notes of white flowers, peaches, and quince, complemented by the freshness of citrus fruits. On the palate, the fruit-forward character and rich texture are balanced by crisp acidity, leading to a long, aromatic finish. It is a Malagousia wine that is highly expressive in its aromatics while maintaining a refreshing quality.

The grapes are carefully selected, and a cold maceration process is applied prior to fermentation—the juice is kept in contact with the skins to extract a greater concentration of aromatic compounds. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 16–18°C, preserving the delicate floral and fruity aromas. The wine is then aged for 6 months on its fine lees, with occasional gentle stirring (*bâtonnage*). This process imparts roundness, richness, and a smoother texture to the wine.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 10–12 °C. Food pairing: green salads, mild cheeses, fried Mediterranean-style appetizers.

About brand

The history of Kir-Yianni Winery dates back to 1997, when one of the most influential personalities in the Greek wine world, Yiannis Boutaris, separated from his famous grandfather, the Boutari Wine Group, founded in 1879. Currently, his charismatic son, Stellios Boutaris, who is a fifth-generation winemaker, runs the Kir-Yianni winery, whose vineyards are located on the slopes of Mount Vermio, 300-700 meters above sea level. The two main vineyards on the farm, dominated by the local Xinomavro grape, are in the appeals of the Greek region of Amyndeon and Naoussa.
