White dry
Lingua Franca Sisters Chardonnay Eola Amity Hills 2021 comes from the prestigious Eola-Amity Hills region of Oregon (USA). This wine is a great example of how a new world Chardonnay can meet the elegance and structure of old traditions.
The aroma is seductive with a hint of white peach, lemon peel, wet stones and delicate oak.
Rich, yet elegantly complex. Fresh acidity balances with a delicate texture. A combination of yellow fruits, citrus and mineral notes unfolds in the mouth. Long aftertaste.
Fermented with wild yeasts, the wine was aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (of which only ~20% new oak).
Serve at a temperature of 8 - 10 °C with crab salad, lobster prepared with butter and herbs, cold smoked fish, halibut with white truffles, salmon with chanterelles.
The 2021 Chardonnay Sisters is youthfully reticent, taking plenty of air to reveal Meyer lemon, salted almonds, cashew and acacia with nuances of flint. The light-bodied palate is bright and shimmery with mineral-driven fruit, tangy acidity and a long, ethereal finish. It will benefit from 2-3+ years in bottle to unwind
Lingua Franca was co-founded by Larry Stone, David Honig, and Dominique Lafon in 2015, inspired by the exceptional vineyard site in the Eola-Amity Hills that Larry bought in 2012. They soon hired Thomas Savre, a brilliant young winemaker with work experience at some of the best domaines in Burgundy and an inquisitive mind. Together they have assembled a team of talented and passionate members. All are committed to farming and winemaking practices that respect the environment, believing that complex and undisturbed ecosystems help to create the most interesting and seductive wines.
