White dry
This exceptional white wine from the Marc Morey estate, Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru En Virondot AOC 2023, is crafted from "Chardonnay" grapes grown in a vineyard situated high above sea level.
The wine's aroma is characterized by spices, with hints of nutmeg. On the palate, a long-lasting mineral character unfolds. This is a substantive, structured wine, boasting impressive depth and a beautifully long finish, revealing a pleasant, pungent nuance.
The "Chardonnay" vines are approximately 30 years old. This "En Virondot" vineyard, almost exclusively family-owned, is located in the highest part of Chassagne, at around 300 meters above sea level, on calcareous and stony soil.
The majority of the grape juice is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, while the remaining portion – about 30% – is fermented in new French oak barrels. The wine is aged on its lees for 12 months.
Serve at 10-12°C with shellfish, white fish with spicy sauces.
If you want to experience the true spirit of Burgundy, it's worth remembering the name „Domaine Marc Morey & Fils“. This winery grew in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet village. Their history began in 1919, when Fernand Morey established his estate there after World War I. Today, the fourth generation – Sabina Mollard and her husband Bernard Mollard – lovingly continue the family traditions. Bernard Mollard is a true talent in his field, one of those winemakers who not only follow tradition but also bravely seek new paths to the hearts of wine lovers.
