Description

As it delicately fills the glass, the eye is first charmed by anelegant, ebony-dark color with mahogany notes. Next are the aromas showing spicy touches and a hint of oak, which then develop in the mouth to fully reveal peppery, piquant flavors. Abundant sunshine during the summer of 2015 ripened the grapes on this very warm terroir adjoining Pomerol, producing silky and graceful tannins. Of note are smoky, meaty aromas that are typical of Saint-Emilion, and an accompanying lively finish that offers additional freshness and pleasure. Decant before serving with roasts, duck, stews and preserved meats, but those who wait several years will not be disappointed.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 16-18 °C with red meat, game, for starters Saffron scallop

Robert Parker

The 2015 Grand Corbin Manuel is a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon matured in 60% new oak. It has a fresh, classic Saint Emilion bouquet, very fresh and delineated, attractive sous-bois aromas emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well-judged acidity, nothing ambitious or extraordinary, but here is a classic, almost old fashioned Saint Emilion that will be absolutely delicious when bottled.

About brand

Château Grand Corbin Manuel is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the Saint-Émilion appellation, one of the most renowned wine regions in the world, where vineyards grow on expressive terroir, producing wines distinguished by character, structure, and balanced elegance. This is a project that successfully combines traditional winemaking values with modern technologies in order to create wines worthy of the attention of the most discerning Bordeaux wine lovers.

The vineyards of Château Grand Corbin Manuel are situated in the prestigious Saint-Émilion appellation, where the soils are composed of limestone, clay, and gravel. This diversity gives the wines an expressive structure and vibrant fruit intensity, while preserving the authentic characteristics of the Saint-Émilion terroir.

The estate is dominated by classic Bordeaux red grape varieties: ‘Merlot’ and ‘Cabernet Franc’, which, thanks to their aromatic qualities and ability to adapt to the local soils, are ideally suited to this region.

Fermentation takes place under carefully controlled conditions. Ageing is mainly carried out in French oak barrels, which provide the wine with additional nuances and refined structure. This method allows the wines to reveal their qualities not only in youth but also to mature successfully for many years.

Château Grand Corbin Manuel wines are known for their balanced elegance and deep fruit profile. They often display aromas of ripe red and dark berries, subtle spicy notes, and refined tannins, which give the wines expressiveness and harmony.

These wines pair beautifully with roasted lamb, slow-cooked meat dishes, aged cheeses, and other gastronomic combinations that help to reveal their complexity and elegant character.
