This wine presents a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers an attractive, perfumed character with notes of red fruit, herbs, and flowers. It's a medium-bodied, intensely fruity wine with fresh acidity and textured tannins that contribute grip and tension on the palate. The finish is long and deep.
The vineyard, located just 22 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean and 500 kilometers south of Santiago, is thought to have been planted an astonishing 100 to 300 years ago. This mountainous region, characterized by gentle slopes and numerous old vineyards, is a testament to timeless viticulture.
This distinctive wine is a field blend, predominantly 80% País and 20% San Francisco, with vines planted at a density of 5,100 plants per hectare in granite soil.
The wine is aged for 12 months in used barrels. With only 3,456 bottles (750ml) and 50 magnums (1.5 liter) available, this is a truly rare release.
Serve at 14-16 °C with pork, rich fish (tuna, salmon), vegeterian, poultry.
