Rose dry
Château de L'Escarelle Croix d'Engardin Coteaux Varois en Provence AOP 2022 – a wine where the sun, sea, and wind of Provence come together in perfect harmony. This is an elegant and refined rosé.
This rosé wine features a delicate, pastel hue – a hallmark of top-tier Provence rosés. The aroma gently entices with notes of rose petals, acacia blossoms, white peaches, grapefruit, and wild berries. On the palate, it reveals a refreshing yet slightly fuller texture, bursting with fruit and minerality, and finishes with a soft, saline touch.
This wine is crafted from carefully selected Syrah and Grenache grapes, hand-harvested at night to preserve maximum freshness and aromatic finesse. The vineyards are located at 250–500 meters above sea level, on clay and limestone soils.
Serve at 10 - 12 °C as an aperitif, with light white meat dishes, grilled vegetables, grilled calamari, tapas.
Château de L'Escarelle is one of the most beautiful wineries in Provence, located in the La Sainte-Baume Regional Natural Park, a protected area of hills and forests. The vineyard covers more than 100 hectares of vineyards growing at altitudes of up to 500 metres on terraced limestone soils, separated by traditional dry-stone walls. This environment creates a unique terroir that gives the wines freshness, minerality and elegance.
Since 2014, when Yann Pineau acquired the farm, Château de L'Escarelle has been modernising and converting to organic viticulture. The farm has been equipped with advanced technologies such as modern presses, temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation tanks and a precise grape sorting system, which allows it to produce wines of the highest quality.
The winery works closely with the LPO PACA (French League for the Protection of Birds) on biodiversity research, including butterfly monitoring and conservation projects. The winery's philosophy is based on sustainability, respect for the natural heritage and the desire to create “a little corner of paradise, as close to nature as possible”.
