White dry
Produced by Olivier Leflaive from one of the oldest vineyards in Saint-Aubin, this wine has become a favorite among lovers of fine white Burgundy over the past decade.
The bouquet is refined and harmonious, blending liquorice, floral, and delicate spicy notes. The palate is rich yet saline, with a silky texture and subtle camphor and menthol hints on the finish, adding freshness and depth.
The vineyard’s name, “Dents de Chien” — meaning “Dog’s Teeth” — refers to the sharp rocks that overlook the site. The 30-year-old Chardonnay vines, rooted in clay-limestone soils on steep slopes, benefit from excellent sun exposure that ensures early and even ripening.
Aged for 12 months — the first four in stainless steel tanks, followed by eight in French oak barrels (25 % new) — this wine combines purity, precision, and gentle oak complexity.
Serve at 10–12 °C. Ideal with river crayfish, grilled fish, or pike in a creamy sauce.
The name "Olivier Leflaive" is very well known to Burgundy lovers. The roots of this family, deeply embedded in the Puligny-Montrachet soil, date back to 1717, but it was not until the 20th century that Joseph Leflaive began actively cultivating the family winery and traditions. His vision was simple but grand – to create top-quality Burgundy wines that would reflect the unique terroir of the region.
His son Olivier, having inherited the family traditions, founded his own estate in 1984, named after himself. This step allowed him to experiment not only with white wines but also with red wines, expanding the family's holdings. In 2010, "Olivier Leflaive" regained its long-cherished vineyards, which had been leased to "Domaine Leflaive" for 18 years. Today, the estate boasts 15 hectares of prestigious vineyards in the Puligny, Chassagne, and Meursault regions.
The year 2023 marks a new chapter in the history of "Olivier Leflaive" – after a long and impressive career, technical director Franck Grux retired. His place was taken by the talented winemaker Solène Panigai, who will undoubtedly continue the traditions of this house and continue to create exceptional Burgundy wines.
