Red dry
The 2018 Château Pitray is an expressive and solid wine from the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, which shares the same limestone plateau with its famous neighbor Saint-Émilion. This vintage brings together excellent fruit ripeness, well-defined structure, and a harmonious balance of acidity and tannins.
The aroma opens with notes of blueberries, black raspberries, and ripe plums, complemented by hints of spices, pastry, and dried flowers. Extended aeration reveals warmer, more complex tones, adding depth and nuance to the bouquet.
On the palate, the 2018 Pitray shows a full-bodied and concentrated character. Juicy fruit flavors dominate, subtly framed by soft, well-integrated tannins and lively acidity. The texture is round and harmonious, with a persistent and balanced finish.
The Pitray vineyards, covering around 60 hectares, are gracefully positioned on a hillside where gravel and clay soils prevail.
Serves 16-18 °C with beef stews with vegetables/mushrooms, veal dishes.
