Champagne from one of the most respected Grower Champagne houses. Egly-Ouriet is renowned for its strong sense of terroir expression, natural winemaking philosophy, and extended ageing on lees.
Les Prémices is the most approachable and accessible cuvée from the estate, while fully preserving the house’s signature precision, minerality, and elegance.
On the nose, it reveals lemon zest, green apple, and pear, accompanied by notes of brioche, toasted almonds, and chalky minerality. The aromatic profile is precise, and immediately recognizable as the Egly-Ouriet style.
On the palate, the champagne shows a creamy texture, fine, persistent bubbles, fresh acidity, and a distinct mineral, almost saline character. The finish is long, dry, and remarkably clean.
The wine is made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, grown in the Aube region, in the village of Buxeuil, where chalky clay and marl soils provide structure and depth.
The champagne is aged for around three years on the lees, and the very low dosage (~2 g/l) allows the pure expression of terroir and a naturally dry style to shine through.
