Red dry
Monforte d'Alba, the essence of our territory, to which we owe so much. Monforte Barolo Classico is the result of our daily work, our efforts and commitment, our continuous research. The identity card of our company: a wine born from the land, constantly evolving, striving to be the purest representation of the Monforte d'Alba character".
The wine is made exclusively from grapes grown in the Monforte d'Alba zone. It is aged for 12 months in small oak barrels and spends another 12 months in large (5000 L) oak casks. It is then aged for a further year in the bottle.
The wine offers aromas of red and black berries, with a robust body and elegant tannins. Suitable for drinking earlier than the producer's other wines.
The wine's aging potential extends to 2039+.

This is a relatively new addition to the Domenico Clerico portfolio (the first vintage was 2017) but a needed one given that the estate's most recognized wines like the Barolos Pajana and Ciabot Mentin (both from Ginestra) are recognized as their own brands outside an MGA identity. This wine, however, reminds us that Domenico Clerico's wine DNA is totally linked to Monforte d'Alba. The 2019 Barolo del Comune di Monforte d'Alba takes a few minutes to open before it delivers that combination of dark berry fruit and rusty mineral that gives this part of the appellation strength and structure. Some 30,000 bottles are available at an interesting price point.
Domenico Clerico has been one of the greatest innovators in the Italian wine world, a long and constant task, everything focused on enhancing the qualities of Barolo with the philosophy and passion that has always guided him and moreover he has been able to skifully convey this to those who have followed in his footsteps.
