Description

The Scharzhofberg vineyard lies on the southern slopes of the Saarland valley, 35-60% steep. Here the soil consists of loess and gray and pink slate up to 70%. This is one of the world’s most prestigious terroirs. This Riesling has a fine vein of flint and gooseberry as well as a delicate mouthfeel and that very typical fine saline note that many Scharzhofberger share. Minerality wonderfully integrated into the ensemble. Tension right through to the last drop.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 10-12 ° C with meat cooked sous vide; fish dishes such as Dover sole meunière; or a fine veal or poultry fricassée.
