Red dry
Domaine Faiveley Volnay 1er Cru Fremiets 2022 is an elegant and refined red Burgundy wine that reflects the grace, subtlety and excellent structure of the wines of the Côte de Beaune region. The vines grow on the prestigious Les Fremiets plot in the Volnay appellation.
The wine seduces with elegant aromas of red cherries, raspberries, rose petals and delicate spices. The taste has silky tannins, fresh acidity, a mineral note and a long, harmonious aftertaste.
Les Fremiets is one of the best-rated Premier Cru plots in the Volnay appellation, it borders the Pommard appellation - therefore the wine acquires the softness of Volnay and the structure of Pommard. The soil is calcareous clay, ideal for 'Pinot Noir'. The vines are mostly mature (40-60 years old), giving a concentrated but balanced harvest. Cold maceration (about 5-6 days, 10-12°C) is performed, fermentation with natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks, with constant temperature control. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, where it is aged for about 14-16 months (about 30-40% of the barrels are new).
Serve at 14-16 °C. The wine goes well with duck, roast veal, rabbit, mushroom dishes, light game stews or aged cheeses. It is also suitable for vegetable tarts or truffle-based appetizers.
Since 1825, the Faiveley family has worked with deep respect in the heart of Burgundy – in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Côte Chalonnaise regions – where prestigious Grands Crus and Premiers Crus wines are born. The secrets and passion of winemaking, passed down from generation to son, have allowed Domaine Faiveley to become the largest family-owned vineyard estate in Burgundy today, managing an impressive portfolio of 13 Grands Crus, 35 Premiers Crus, and 28 village wines. The wines of this producer are consistently characterized by elegance and impeccable quality.

Aging and Drinking Period
Domaine Faiveley wines possess an excellent balance and elegance, allowing them to be enjoyed both young and mature. The red wines have great potential for long aging, during which their complexity unfolds and the tannins become more refined. The white wines can also age, developing even more depth and concentration.
