A modern single malt whisky from Scotland’s Lowlands region, combining delicate fruitiness, a clean distillation style, and an exceptional sense of balance. Each sip reveals the youthful yet refined Lowlands character – light, elegant, and vibrantly fruity.
The aroma unfolds with notes of demerara sugar, vanilla, banana bread, pineapple, and fresh flowers. Subtle hints of caramel, gooseberry, rhubarb, and gentle spice appear with time. The bouquet remains bright and pure, free from excessive oak influence – a benchmark expression of the Lowlands style.
On the palate, the whisky is smooth yet structured, with a silky texture and a fruity, slightly creamy character. Tropical fruit, summer berries, rhubarb, and lemon zest harmoniously intertwine with touches of white pepper and clove. The finish is long and clean, lingering with pineapple syrup and kiwi freshness.
The Kingsbarns Distillery is located in Fife county, in Scotland’s Lowlands, near the historic town of St Andrews. The region is renowned for its lighter, more elegant whiskies, marked by floral notes and a soft, refined profile. Kingsbarns sources its barley locally, grown just a few kilometres from the distillery, maintaining a close connection to the land and local traditions.
Two yeast strains – distiller’s and brewer’s – are used to achieve a more expressive fermentation profile. The spirit is matured in ex-bourbon casks and STR (shaved, toasted, re-charred) red wine barriques, adding gentle sweetness and structure. The whisky is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, preserving its authentic hue and genuine character.
