Dessert wine sweet
There are many theories around the origin of the name of this wine but most likely the name comes from the use of this wine during the Mass. This is traditional sweet wine from Tuscany made from dried grapes. In February the dried grapes of Trebbiano and Malvasia are softly pressed. The must is then slowly fermented with indigenous yeats and aged for 5 years in small oak barrels. The vineyards about 45 hectares are over 400 m. above sea level on predominantly sandstone soils rich in skeleton.
Serve at 6-8 °C with desserts with dried fruits or as a dessert.
