Nearly a decade after the end of World War II, several Hunavir manufacturers decided to join forces and overcome post-war difficulties by working as a team. 60 years after the cooperative was founded, it unites about 110 members who work on about 200 hectares of the best vineyards in Alsace. 80 percent of vineyards located in Hunavire and its environs (Riquewihr, Zellenber), of which 13 ha are allocated to the Grand Cru vineyards (Rosacker, Froehn, Sporen, Schoenenbourg, Osterberg), where the harvest is harvested only by hand. In order to achieve proper complexity and better unfoldment of the wine, almost all the wine produced is kept in neutral containers with fine yeast deposits for 18 to 24 months before bottling.
