Domaine Tchotiashvili Mtsvivani 2019 is an expressive, hand-selected natural amber (orange) wine from Georgia, created as part of the exclusive “SB (Specially Bottled)” series. This collection is strictly limited (around 1500 bottles), with each bottle marked by a unique number and released to the market only after being personally signed by Kakha Tchotiashvili.

This 2019 vintage is a dry amber wine made entirely from the indigenous Georgian grape variety ‘Mtsvivane’, grown in the mountainous areas of the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia. The wine is fermented and aged using the traditional qvevri method – in large clay amphorae buried underground – with prolonged contact with grape skins and seeds, preserving the wine’s natural aromatic profile and structural authenticity.

The aroma of this Mtsvivane is concentrated and multi-layered: intense notes of ripe fruit and dried apricots emerge first, intertwined with nuances of citrus peel, honey, and delicate herbal spices. A pronounced sense of minerality conveys the influence of clay and rocky soils, giving voice to the unique terroir.

On the palate, the wine is of medium body and structure. Its profile is shaped by a balanced and vibrant acidity, fresh flavors of peach, apple, and quince, along with a gentle framework of tannins that provide a long, harmonious finish. The taste is bold and expressive, yet naturally refined and precise.

As a traditional Georgian qvevri wine, this Mtsvivane is unfiltered, produced without added chemicals, and fermented with wild yeasts, ensuring maximum authenticity and a pure expression of origin.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 12–14 °C. Pairs well with mature cheeses, chicken or fish dishes, as well as spiced Georgian cuisine.

About brand

The history of Chotiashvili family begins in the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, with great love for vines and gapres, family traditions are being developed and followed. Today, the responsibility of the winemaker and technologist rests on the shoulders of the younger brother – Kakha. He enriched hereditary information on winemaking with modern knowledge and his own practical achievements. High professionalism, love for work and great responsibility for the results of this work made it possible for Marani Chotiashvili not only to present their wines at prestigious international exhibitions, but also to earn high marks and awards.
