Likerinis p. sausas
Grapes from various quality vineyards from Jardim da Serra and Ribeira da Janela. Grapes were pressed in a continuous press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%). Sercial aged in French oak casks from 10 up to 14 years by Canteiro method. Gold with green highlights Aromas of dried fruits, pine, woody, resin and orange leaf. Mineral, salty and heady acidity. Finish dry and fresh and has almost an endless end.
Total sugar: 45 g/l
Serve at 10-12°C with oysters, French onion soup, octopus salad, Parmesan cheese, with sautéed mushrooms with garlic and olives.
Deep burnished gold, hinting at tawny. Oxidised notes of bruised fruit and a nutty character. Delicate yeasty notes. On the palate quite richly textured, with a sweetness at first, but soon overtaken by dry, Fino-like nuttiness and plenty of lemon rind waxiness and crisp, clean, white fruit and citrus acidity. This has a multi-layered complexity, and the 50g/l of residual sugar is mind-boggling given the searing dryness of the finish.
Vinhos Barbeito was founded in 1946 by Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos and has since then always been run by members family. Nature plays an important role in the production of their wines. They take advantage of the fact that they are aged in three distinct warehouses, all with different climatic characteristics and different sun exposers. This fact enables them to obtain an enormous variety of wines aged by the Canteiro method. All of these characteristics contribute to Barbeito's unique style: long and fresh acidity after taste.
