Likerinis p. saldus
The vineyards Ribeiro Real spread over the south side of Madeira Island at an elevation of 200 meters above sea level. This wine growing area of rich volcanic soil fully exposed to the sun, benefits both from wind protection provided by the slopes on the sides, and from the sea breeze that blows from the southwest. Great Madeira wines originated in this locality, such as Favila Tinta Negra, awarded royal patronage under King Luís I. This Tinta Negra 20 year old is yet another homage to the history of Madeira Wine. In July 2016, 1.183 bottles were filled, all individually numbered.
Total sugar: 81,5 g/l
Serve at 10-12 °C with consommé, smoked salmon, dried ham, pates or spaghetti with clams and orange, cheese and olives.
Vinhos Barbeito was founded in 1946 by Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos and has since then always been run by members family. Nature plays an important role in the production of their wines. They take advantage of the fact that they are aged in three distinct warehouses, all with different climatic characteristics and different sun exposers. This fact enables them to obtain an enormous variety of wines aged by the Canteiro method. All of these characteristics contribute to Barbeito's unique style: long and fresh acidity after taste.
